Oakley unveils “Artifacts from the Future”
A new chapter in the brand's history
June 6th, 2025
In the year of its fiftieth anniversary, Oakley® launches an initiative that looks to the future: Artifacts From The Future. This new chapter in the brand’s history doesn’t just celebrate its legacy, but redefines the very idea of innovation, bringing designs imagined for 2075 directly into our present. The campaign and the featured collection are a perfect blend of high performance and cultural spirit, embodied by four icons of the new sports and cultural generation: Kylian Mbappè, Jaylen Brown, Alexia Putellas, Trinity Rodman. Since its inception, Oakley has been able to transform sportwear items into cultural symbols, moving seamlessly from the Olympic podium to high-fashion runways. Historic models like Sub Zero, Eye Jacket, Mars, and Medusa have left a lasting mark not only in sports, but also in contemporary style and design. Today, with Artifacts From The Future, Oakley reaffirms its role as a pioneer: products designed for 2075 are already here, ready to define new aesthetics and functions for the current year.
At the heart of the campaign is Plantaris, a wraparound eyewear piece that blends sculpture and biomimicry. Inspired by nature, and in particular by the explosive strength of an amphibian in mid-jump, the design uses a flexible silicone structure for a fit that dynamically adapts to movement. It’s not just a visual object, but a concrete preview of what the future of technical design could be. The collection also includes other visually and technologically impactful models: Lateralis, which reinterprets Oakley’s heritage with an avant-garde spirit, and Masseter, which revisits the minimalism of the ’90s and early 2000s with a contemporary twist. Both will soon be available in customizable versions on Oakley’s website, thanks to the Oakley Custom 2025 program, designed to suit each user's style.
Alongside the eyewear, the brand is presenting the SS25 season of the Reserve Apparel Collection, a lifestyle line brought to life with Jaylen Brown as the protagonist. The clothing features an urban and functional aesthetic, where bold graphics meet technical fabrics and smart details like multiple pockets. Every piece reflects a strong identity, designed for those who live outside the box and seek performance without sacrificing expressiveness. Launched on May 15, 2025 and already available both online and in stores, the campaign’s featured collection Artifacts From The Future marks just the beginning of a journey that will see Oakley continue to innovate and collaborate with cutting-edge figures. On the horizon are already new exclusive Signature Series, including those by Alexia Putellas and Kylian Mbappé. With this project, Oakley doesn’t just reinterpret the past—it offers an active vision of the future. It’s a call to those who want to go beyond, to those who see tomorrow as a creative space to explore today.
